Remove the plastic covers around the column. top one is clipped on and the bottom one has three screws (one is hidden under the lower part of the dash trim so you'll have to take that off too.about six Phillips screws) then turn ignition to position 1. on the top of the barrel housing there is a little hole. you will have to push a screw driver or a pick into the hole and it will release a locking tag. give the lock a wiggle and it will pull out. failing that take it to your local ford garage labour shouldn't be more than half an hour.
instructions come with the new one unless someone took them from package .
