Should I report the driver?
I don't think the driver should've been happy to throw the guy off the bus given the state he was in. Should I say something to the bus company about the driver?
Answers:
Definately say something to the bus company, drunk or not the guy should not have been treated like that and especially when he needed a ambulance
yes you should
I would report it straight away, the driver is a disgrace.
Definately! From my experience, bus drivers are all horrible gits- they need sorted out!
The perils of drink my dad warned me about.
yes, report him,at least the drunk had enough sense to try to get home than be behind the wheel of a car and gotten someone else killed or hurt.the driver should have respected that and gave the man a ride.
Yes - that driver should not have responsibility for the welfare of other people. If the drunk person was not being abusive the driver should not have thrown him off - and even if he was the driver should have checked he was alright. Well done your neighbour.
Good luck to you.
Report him, if it wasn't for your neighbour the guy could have died from serious head injuries.
Yes. Your neighbour did the right thing and either she or you should report this driver
I say bravo Mr. Driver! From having to take night buses due to shift work I know some drivers have to put up with a lot of crap from drunkards and opiate-riddled tossers. I'm sure the man was fine - the head tends to bleed quite profusely in the smallest of matters.
Yes i would i wouldnt care if the bloke was drunk there was no need for the driver to act in that way he just wanted to get home safely instead of lying in a gutter somewhere sleeping off his hangover.I would get in touch with the bus company straight away he shouldnt get away with it,what if the doors had opened accidently when he fell he could have fallen out and been killed. At least he wasnt driving home and killing someone he had done the decent thing and wanted to catch the bus.
I would yes. This may not be the first time that this has happened with this bus driver. He should at least be called upon for his behavior.
Yes, sounded like criminally negligent too.
Teh more complaints the company get about he incident, the better action they can take because they have more evidence. That driver should not be allowed to drive!
well done to your neighbour! Id def report him, it wasnt as if he was being abusive. It could have been a man out celebrating the birth of his child or something who wouldnt normally be drunk and he could have died so def, def report the driver.
Took the corner at speed? I think you would have trouble proving what speed he took the corner.
Also if the man was hardly able to stand up, then i would say the bus driver was pretty generous to take him onto the bus in the first place, once on the bus, if the man couldn't get his fare out, and was hardly able to stand i think the driver had every right to throw him off when he fell over. Buses are public transport, and i wouldn't want to have a drunk falling over the bus if I was on it, so I suggest next time the drunk gets plastered he books a cab. I'm sure if the drunk hadn't fallen over and had sat next to you, you'd have a totally different point of view.
I don't think you should report the driver as he gave the guy a chance and he blew it by being too drunk. He wouldn't have fallen over if he wasn't so drunk, so there's a lesson to be learned.
The driver is reponsible for the health and saftey of all their passengers, and has the drivers actions directly caused the drunk top fall he/she can leagally be held liable for it.
If the driver thought the guy was too drunk to be on the bus they have the right to refuse access. This is what they should have done in the first place.
yes
Yes. Get the drunk to sue so your fare will go up to pay for the settlement and for insurance needed to cover people who are intoxicated in public.
Yes, giving the date, time and number of the bus service. If you have the bus number, that would be most helpful especially if you were on a busy bus route at the time.
Did anyone get the bloke's name? If not, the hospital may have it (for a police prosecution).
The driver was probably happy to get the drunk off his bus before he was sick all over the place. But that's no excuse for his actions.
yes, just because he appeared drunk, he still has the same rights as everyone else, and also the driver should not be allowed to treat some one like this, it is his duty to provide to the public not endanger them
DUH !!!!!!
Sorry but seriously you saw someone put in a life threatening situation and you have to ask this question.
Of course you should report the incident to the bus company this driver shouldn't be out ther driving - next time it could be you.
Yes. The incident should be reported to the bus company concerned. You,along with your neighbour,as witnesses to this incident, should be the ones to report it. It will then be up to the bus company to decide whether to investigate the incident. You and your neighbour should state your EXACT account of this matter.
You may but drunkenness can have consequences and this appears to be the case here.
Say absolutely nothing. If you do you will be at risk of being permanently thrown off all buses.
Bus drivers have the legal right to refuse admittance to those who are drunk or are abusive to them and the passengers.
It sounds to me like the drunk got exactly what he was due.
