Not as much to buy as it will cost to run. If your thinking of running on in the UK petrol is currently around £0.90 a litre so the 12mpg it will get on the open road is going to hurt your wallet. As for buying one, in the UK I'd have though it would set you back over £20,000 for a good condition usable car.
I have no idea about prices in the US, but I suspect running costs will be a little bit lower since petrol (or gasoline if you're a Yank) is a lot cheaper.
