The best place is the Autotrader, just make sure if buying from a private seller you have an AA check and HPI check. its worth the money
Try autosave.co.uk
A main dealer is your best bet - avoid car supermarket like the plague
Surely its not where to get it, but what to get.

If you are looking for a reliable used car the best option is Japanese. Ie Honda Toyota Lexus etc.

Get one from a main dealer and you will normally get a min of 12 months warranty. If you are buying off autotrader from a private seller without a warranty it is a risk you will have to take.
