The heater in my car only blows out radom short bursts of heat.?
Answers:
Heater core. it could be clogged. You may also have a vacuum leak at the exchange box (That's the box inside the car that allows you to switch from Hot air to cool air) some of them have a vacuum switch that moves the door to change from hot to cold.
loose wire.
put more coal in.
Shoot it before you are found frozen in the death trap a.k.a found on road dead f.o.r.d ..good luck
ps ..aim for the radiator
Sounds like an air lock, often caused by a loose hose clamp allowing air in but not much water out, check all the hose clips high on the engine and ensure the water is topped right up n the cooling system. then try and bleed the air at the highest point of the ststem, priming the heater pipes with water is worth trying as well.
If you had the heater pipes off check they are on the right way round.
it could be air trapped in your rubber pipes from your radiator cos thats where the hot air is taken from to heat your car. Try tracing the rubber hosing from your radiator and find a bleed clip. release this and squeeze pipes while car running and try to feel for the solid flow of hot water from your radiator.
its an air-lock,bleed the water system ..look to see if there is a bleeding valve on one of the hoses.preferably high up open it til water comes out
my bloke's a mechanic for ford, reckons it mite be an air lock or blocked matrix
i bet it mainly does it when turning corners!
it's caused by an air lock in the system,
