Normal amount - £175.00 for year

Petrol Cars with engines of 1. litre pay less
Deisels with engines 1.5 and less pay less

Car tax is based on how much you bought the thing for, just like anything else. In my county it's unfortunately 7.75%, and I'm sure some special cause one day will persuade the voters again in the future sometime to raise it to an even-more-of-an-outrage-amount.
