Where can you get a cheap second handf car from?
does anyone have any ideas where I should go to?? (using past experiences if possible but any advice will do)
Answers:
You might find something at the independant dealers, but your money might well go further if you buy from a private seller, as they do charge less, but if you do go that route, be warned that you have less legal comeback as opposed to the dealers.
Make sure you give the car a good once-over before handing over any money, take a good test drive listening for strange noises and making sure the car doesn't pull to one side when braking, and just ensure that you can enjoy driving the car. If you're don't know much about cars, take a mechanic, or a friend or relative that does.
Oh, and one more tip; when ringing up a seller, don't mention the make or model when asking about the car. If they ask "which one?", you know that it's a dealer pretending to be a private seller. They do this to get rid of faulty cars without their usual obligations.
Otherwise, you can pick up some silly bargains at the auctions, but they're as risky as risky can be, as there's no warranty, and no chance of a test drive. Go as a spectator once or twice first, before you go intending to buy and of course, bring someone knowlegeable about cars if necessary.
get a honda civic from the honda used car dealer
I've found really good deals through individuals. Look at all the ones you pass on the side of the road.
www.Autotrader.co.uk
try your local dealers, but get an AA inspection done which only costs £40-50.
Its easy to find a cheap car for yourself, the problem for you is insuring it.
bargain pages is always the best for cheap cars. get it early and be quick! it's out twice a week, mondays and thursdays i think.
i've had 2 cars out the bargain pages, the first car lasted a week coz i wrote it off! but the second car was £350, it was 12 years old but i never had any trouble, i had a renault 5. I was 20 when i got it and i think my insurance was around £600 ish.
Try a good car auction or www.moneysupermarket.com
check local papers and ask around. failing that try autotrader.
Get the Autotrader, its a weekly magazine which has ads for every kind of car you can think of
