Every 3000 miles if you cherish your engine. Make sure you use exactly the correct grade of oil that Mazda recommend, and use a genuine Mazda filter as well.

Rotary engines are not the unreliable items they once used to be, but you really don't want those rotor-tips wearing out too soon.
i own a repair shop,and its just like any other vehicle ,id change it at least every 3 thousand miles ,to be safe about it,as long as you don't use a cheap oil,and change it ton a regular schedule you,ll be fine with it,good luck i hope this help,s.
