ok i read through all the answers that people have given u and one answer seemed to be the closest. sounds to me like u have a idle air control problem no the tune up will not cause this nor will off timing there is no way for your timing to be off the motor has a timing belt there is no choke pull off because its not carburated and EGR will not cause an idling problem but will cause a misfire the IAC IDLE AIR CONTROL motor is an electric motor that act like a pintle on a screw the motor turns the screw according to the ecm to either let unmetered air in to increase idle or it remains closed to lower desired idle. its all computer controled have a local mechanic plug into the car and pull a data stream see if the IAC is stepping like its supposed to in the morning ist common for all fuel injected cars to have an initial idle of 1250 1500 rpm for 2 to 5min its called cold idle control its a program in the ecm that the ecm runs when certain conditions from certain sensor are found like coolant temp below 50 degrees. but the car should rev down once it begins to warm up hope this helps
you sholud just get a tune up
no it won't. it won't let the car start.
sounds like your timing is out.get a tune up
lean gasoline or a lack of gas being injected into the cylinder will increase the RPMs.
you either have a vacuum leak or a bad idle air control valve. there are other possibilities but these are the cheap possibilites. good luck
Down to your timing belt / chain. I aint a mechanic.. but you need one.
It sounds like a fuel delivery or fuel pressure issue. Possibly the fuel pump
no plug wires wont do that, have your throttle position sensor or idle air control checked out.
In all honesty I think it could be a number of problems including timing belt issues, clogged gas line or fuel injection
ok, engines are engines. sounds like the automatic choke is coming on when it shouldnt. (fords do it a lot) the revs will drop in drive, and go up about 250 in park and neutral ordinarily.
check the air filter may be blocked (change it) and spray wd40 around the throttle linkages and choke mechanism (either on a carb or fuel injection engine, they all have pumps and linkages)
and dont put it into drive and hold the brake whilst revving the engine. a youll damage the torque converter, blow the diff, or if your foot comes off the brake..youll launch.
Yes must agree sounds like you need a good tune up sounds like the automatic advance and retard is fighting against the ignition timing
vac probm
no
When you press the brake, it used vacuum from the inlet manifold to activate the brake server.
You have got a leak in this vacuum system. Check out hoses and connections, get someone to press the brake whilst the engine is running and look under the bonnet and listen for a hissing sound.
it sounds like it is the fuel flow regulator or the EGR in eather case it needs to be put on the puta and checked to know for sure .spend the 35 dollars to have it checked buy the part and put it in yourself. its easy. you will waste that much money in fuel pretty quick if you dont fix it. spark plugs and wires wont cause your problem.
