Can i get a cash refund on a credt card transaction if the product is faulty?

Answers:
You can get a refund if the product is faulty but because you paid by card the money will have to be put back on the card. You wont get the cash in your hand at the shop.
yes; if the company concerned won;t refund, contact your card provider tell them your problem, they have a legal obligation to you if things like this go wrong.
Not normally.. the refund is usually debited back to your credit card.
However I have experienced shop assistants giving cash refunds without realising that they are making a mistake.
yes you can depending on whether you are within the cooling off period (i.e 7/14 days)
not usually if you pay on a card it goes back to the card
You could take it back to the store without a receipt. Then you can exchange it and they'll give you a new receipt. Then later return that for the cash refund, since they have no idea you originally paid with a credit card.

But if you take it back with a receipt that identifies credit card as your payment, then no, they will just credit back to your card.
The answer has already been correctly given, in that any refund will be directed back to the card
In the UK, if the product is faulty, rather than you are just taking it back because you didn't like it, then you should be entitled to a cash refund under the terms of the Sale of Goods Act 1979.

However, many sellers will try to insist you accept them crediting your card account - especially for very expensive items where the shop may not keep that amount of cash in stock.

If they don't provide a cash or cheque refund, threaten them with court action under the terms of the Sale of Goods Act 1979.

If the product is not faulty, then whether they accept a return, and how they provide refunds for returns is entirely at their discretion - they are under no legal obligation to provide refunds for goods that are not faulty.
In short..no!

You only get the money back in the way it was originially paid. i.e. cash, or credit card, or gift vouchers,
your not supposed to. i have had it taken off a new purchase in the shop?
The fact that you put your question in the motor section suggests that your car is not what you want can you get your money back.

You will be laughed out of the showroom, it comes with a warranty so they will fix it but hardly ever do people get there money back.
