When i pass my test?
Answers:
If you want spacious, but not too big a car - then I'd recommend the Honda Civic, or the Honda Jazz.
Both very reliable cars, safe, good fun, and have more character than the Vauxhalls you mentioned.
Are you looking to buy new, used or get the car on contract hire/lease?
Have a look on here to compare the prices:

The Civic is the larger car, but both are like the tardis - much larger inside than other cars in the same class.
The diesel is an option if you're going to be doing lots of miles.
Best of luck with the test, and hope you get the car you want.
the citroen picasso, great car to drive and loads of room and good luck
citroens are really good and peogout
Get a new Mini
YOUR GONNA FAIL
You should consider the length of car carefully. You want something long at the back, then if the worst should happen and someone runs into you, there is more car to absorb the impact before it reaches the children in the back, the same for the front, get a car with a longer bonnet, that way if you run into someone, there is more car to take the impact before it reaches you.
go for it girl, take no notice of the few stupid people on here, they mite grow up one day. the new corsa is a nice family car i would opt for that
For my money I would plum for the meriva, the corsa is a nice little car but too small for a family.
Have you considered the Skoda Fabia estate? It's economical, reliable (that's a VW under the badge) nice and roomy and its a very good drive.
Whatever you choose happy safe motoring to you.
