"W" Reg Ford Fiesta Diesel . problem .?
Answers:
A W reg ford fiesta diesel if it has the endura-de engine in it 1.8cc it will not have a pump in the tank. Diesel cars work slightly different to petrols. in a petrol the fuel is pumped from the tank to the injectors. but in your case the fuel is sucked from the tank by the F.I.P (fuel injection pump) which is at the front of the engine and is driven by the cambelt. If any air has got into the system it will not start and will have to be primed. some of the earlier types have a hand pump fitted to the top of the fuel filter. just disconnect the outlet pipe and pump till you get fuel though. reconnect the pipe and the vehicle should start. if it has a later type engine you will have to do this manually. by either sucking (not advised diesel tastes horrible.) or some sort of other hand pump. If the vehicle still doesn't run you may have other problems. and i would suggest you book it into your local garage
if you run it out of diesel you will need to bleed the air out of it its a common thing in diesels its not straight forward as a petrol car there should be a bleed screw on the fuel injector module which feeds your injectors you need to make sure as well that your diesel filter is full and free of air
on most modern cars the tanks sender unit and pump can be accessed under rear seats plastic cover in floor remove that u get to units
