Does anyone know what the basic specification of a 1993 Vauxhall Astra Merit 1.4 is??
Answers:
Astra 1.4, engine, wheels and seats, thats your lot, what difference does it make, years Mot, cheap motor, enjoy!!
It has 250 BHP (Brake Hamster Power)
it sounds too cheap if you have checked all over and have looked and listened /touched, tried all the main parts and are satisfied i would suggest you try regcheck.co.uk for any bad history reports its free but limited, their text service is £4.50. hpi is a full lowdown on vehicle history about £50.00 tel 08453007516 , if you purchase the car i would recommend you buy a haynes manual (halfords) for that model (Invaluable)) dont try guess work

- look at prices being asked for similar cars
I hope this helps
Merit is the lowest of the low, yes you will have central locking (probably) but thats about it. Very basic specification.
But for £125 with an MOT what do you expect?
this is the bog standard every hole barred no option ticked spec. the flintstones had more toys in their car!
no electric toys at all, if it runs and stops its a bonus! got to be worth 125 quid with a years ticket, the mot costs 40 quid.
The merit comes with windows, a steering wheel, um..and all the air inside the cabin! They were a very basic spec, Central locking would only have been an optional extra, but at that price is pretty good for it. But the mileage probably will be 166,500 unless it had a 6digit odometer.
any car with 12 months MOT. is worth £125 you;ll get a few quid for scrap after mot has expired
