I want more power!?

I have a 1L mk1 peugeot 106 xn and want more power. i already have an induction kit!. What other cheap!! ways is there to improve the bhp of my car??..

Answers:
The white cliffs of Dover would increase the 0~60 time of your 106 dramatically. This only works once and best not be in it at the time.
A one litre 106!! More power!! Come on, get real. If you really want more power, and you can afford the insurance, buy a real car with a real engine.
There is no other cheap way. Next time, get a turbodiesel; getting these chipped will produce significantly more power and torque.
everyone wants more power and speed; to get more power you got to lose weight!!
Try to fine tune the ignition timing. It helps a little for the power and a lot for the torque.

There's also the possibility of forcing (increasing the compression ratio), which involves lapping a little of the head. This is risky and requires special tools and some mathematical and technical knowledge, so you can calculate exactly how much you need to lap. And still forcing the engine will lead to the need of using high octane gasoline and will decrease engines life expectancy.
Installing a turbocharger will have similar effect.

So, fine tune the engine and the ECU (fuel injection timing, pressure, quantity at different RPM ant the ignition timing). ECU upgrade modules are also available at afforderable price and are easy to install and setup.

Lightening the vehicle will lead to better power/weight ratio increased acceleration, but you'll need some downforce to compensate the lost of stability due to decreaced weight.

Hope you like these ideas. Good luck with the modifications and drive safely.
Don't we all want POWER. Coaxing power out of an engine with less than 90 cubic inches of displacement is harder than you think. Nitrious Oxide is the easiest methiod. Here In America gasoline prices around $2.20 a gallon I use 6.0 liter LS-2 engine in a 2006 Pontiac GTO 6 speed manual transmission. With cold air intake and free flowing exhaust engine management changes 421 rear wheel horsepower.(that's what I am talking about)
I suggest you shoehorn a twin turbo V8 into your biscuit tin - you should have the ride of your life.
Grow up a little - concentrate on safety and courtesy and enjoy your car a lot more.
Trade up to a 106 XSi or Rallye.
Otherwise you end up with a poor compromise.

If there was an easy, cheap way of getting more power from the 1.0, Peugeot wouldn't have bothered to produce the 1.4 and 1.6 versions.
Another way to increase power in your car is to fit a performance exhaust, with one of these fitted your exhaust gases escape quicker hence giving you more power! You could also try www.econofueluk.com
They have some stuff on there you may be interested in.
Put some big holes in the floor and get the ant hill mob in.
Sell it and get a car with a bigger engine
jamy sorry to burst your bubble but those engines were not built for performance if you push to far a piston will melt or come through the block they are not bullet proof use a measuring tape and visit your local scrappie some vauxhall engines can be shoe horned in and are very tunable try the corsa range of motors you be surprised what can be done when fitted properly have fun
To be honest mate, you've probably got an open cone on your car yeah? It's going to make your car slower! Its soaks up too much heat from around the engine bay, which is bad ;)
To be honest you wont get much power out of your motor without spending £££, if you can afford the insurance (only group 13) get a 106gti, i thought about getting one, amazing handling, and good acceleration! Hope this helps
You need bigger rubber bands.

Find then in www.slowcars.com
buy a skate board
no, stop being so silly. if I was you I wouldn't waste my money trying to do it up either, because at the end of the day its still gonna be a 1ltr. I wouldn't advise putting a different engine in it either. you'd never be able to sell it on. but if you don't plan to sell it on forget the engine and spend the money on getting a 1.2 or a 1.4 engined car.

Oh and group 13 insurance?? Hah! Thats stupid money. only group 13. my god.

Look on www.parkers.co.uk and look up insurance groups.
If you look down into the foot-well on the drivers side of your beautiful mean machine you will see three pedals the one on the right is called the accelerator. Try pressing it a bit harder! Oh by the way the one in the middle is the brake. you might want to use that sometimes too. Drive Safe
