Where can I get global car insurance?
Answers:
I know a small man in North Korea named .Bob.. I think.
He'll sort you out!
I imagine you mean so you can travel anywhere in the world with your car?
I don't think that there would be a 'standard policy' for something like that, but a company might negotiate with you to create something special. I would guess that the cost of such a policy would be - wow. Kind of like insurance for the presidential limo that goes everywhere.
It would probably cost over 1 million GBP
The rules are different everywhere. Which planet?
Unfortunately there's no such thing. Not yet anway. Most countries require that insurance policies are written by native companies.
Some companies have brand penetration in multiple countries, but each policy is actually written by a local subsidiary. An AIU policy written in the UK is useless in the US and vice versa.
There's no such product for personal lines insurance. Commercial auto policies will provide worldwide liability, but not physical damage.
The theory behind that is, if you have the money to ship your car all over the world with you, you can replace it yourself if it gets stolen.
