How much will the new shape mini affect secondhand prices of the old shape mini?
Answers:
Do you mean the original mini or are you referring to the facelift which is coming up?
The facelift mini which is due now, dont believe dealers when they tell you they don't know about it.
I run a brokerage and I have taken 22 orders for the new one.
Prices won't be affected to much depending on what model you have got. Cooper S supercharger has been ditched in favour of a new turbo, so that will be interesting.
Overall there will be not much damage as the car is pretty much the same, wouldn't worry to much if you sell it private. Dealers will turn it around and offer you less for a Part Ex.

probably not too much.many people may be drawn to the new one, but not want to pay for a new car, hence the old ones might actually go up in value a little
It should push them up because the old shape mini is the only mini. The new shape mini is essentially a bmw that somewhat resembles a mini but is nowhere near the original thing and lots of mini fanatics are totally horrified and will therefore remain in an promote the proper old mini market.
It wont affect it a bit because the new Mini is not mini its huge and not gimmiky at all.
It will probably increase them! The new mini is about as 'mini' as a bus!
Though a nice car in itself I would not consider the new mini to be very 'mini', it therefore doesn't have the cheeky appeal of the original one had. As they are now (I think) no longer made, good examples of the original mini will become more and more sought after and should start to 'appreciate' in value unlike the new mini which can (at the moment) only 'depreciate'!
New mini NOT BMW either, they just 'bought' it when they bought Rover!
