Here's one for all you experienced drivers.?

You drive up to a road junction, and the traffic lights are not working. What is the correct procedure to take to get across the road.

Answers:
you treat it as a 4 way stop and the driver on the right has the right of way
4 way stop, exactly.

Or if you are like the idiots in my town- if you are on the "main" road you just keep driving.
I agree with the dougster.
Proceed with caution and treat as a junction without lights. Be prepared to give way to traffic from both directions as well as those approaching from opposite you.
An intersection where the traffic lights are out should be treated as a 4 way stop!

Seeing as this is an unsafe intersection, it you can turn right, and then make a U turn down the road safely, and return to the intersection to turn right again onto the road you started on (on the other side) you will be better off!
I think you're supposed to stop, check all directions and proceed. I would slow down look all directions for hazards and just go.
give way! if it not workin then it refers back to the rule of an un marked junction.

option 2 ( one i use ) nobody knows what to do so pull out slowly and everybody stops! seriously.
Stop, look more carefully than you would otherwise, and proceed with EXTREME caution.

Bear in mind that even if the light is working and in your favour, you never know if the guy coming the other way is drunk, had a heart attck etc - so you still have a duty to take an appropriate amount of care.
shut yor eyes and hope for the best !
i think it starts,1st person there goes, then the car to the right of that one & so on.
i treat it as a 4 way stop..as every one should
Treat it like a stop sign, but be extremely cautious and don't trust that t a car will stop for you.
Stop. look all ways, IF there are other at intersection the one first one stoped OR who is on the right has the the rightaway, and assume no one else will follow the law & the Big dump truck has no brakes.
It is treated the same way as a four way stop. If two cars reach it the same time the one to the right will go first.
You pretend that there's a stop sign there. You come to a stop and proceed only when it is safe to do so.
you treat it like a stop sign, you cross in the order you stopped
Treat this junction as an unmarked crossroads. No one has priority so you need to be ready to give way to any traffic.Make eye contact with any other drivers before you go through. Alternatively shut your eyes blast through and wake up in hospital
horn, look around then get go !
you treat it the same way as a roundabout and be courteous
Give way to traffic coming from right..(in uk). Left if in USA or Europe
make sure no one is comming, when it is clear, GO
stop, look both ways, procede with caution. (just like at a train crossing)
LAY ON THE HORN while speeding through the intersection at the same time showing the other "DRIVERS" they are truly #1 in your book!
I never treat it as gave way to the right as they have priority, treat as no one has priority and proceed with caution looking in all directions, and be prepared to brake just in case.
Treat it as a four way, BUT do not trust other drivers know the rules. In other words, make sure all have stopped before you go on, or oncoming cars are so far away they can not possibly hit you.
The a*rse you save may be your own!
By the way, funny one badmts it happens too often.
Oh yes, always carefully look *both* directions before going on. One of badmts mates may be out on the road that day!
One older woman, actually very old that I know, habitually prays before getting on public roadways. Maybe she has an idea..
Give your soul to God because you a*rse may be taken by the devil!
Ha Ha!
Shut your eyes and put your foot down .. noooo just kidding .you have to wait until theres a gap in the traffic going across your junction
you treat it as if it were a 4 way stop
As the Highway Code says, proceed with caution. No one has right of way.
