Is there any where that you can get left hand truck driving training in the uk?
Answers:
Sorry but you'll need both hands to drive. Too difficult to hold the steering wheel and change gear at the same time I'm afraid.
why should it matter if the trainer is left or right handed?
Yes find an American to teach you
wouldnt think they would teach you left hand driving in a right hand driving country mate would be quite confusing, not sure though
If you can already drive a right hand drive truck it is quite easy to drive a left hooker, you just need to concentrate more to avoid driving in the middle of the road. The only problems I had at first was smacking the side window when trying to apply the handbrake and covering the floor in cigarette ash! The only other difference is the blindside when reversing is opposite to normal(only on artics).
its not that bad mate , one good tip to start off with is park up along side a curb , sit normally and place a bit of paper or plaster in the screen lined up with your vision and the curb and use that as a marker when driving untill you get used to it , only other things are approah roundabouts a bit different for vision and check wellon motorways before overtaking as you can lose a car down in the front corner , youll be fine mate
If you can drive right hand its only practise to drive a left hand truck,i drive left hand now but was used to right hand drive in the past. All you need is a left hand drive car or truck to practise on,even in UK.
