Is it possible to retrofit traction control?

can you get a dealer to retrofit traction control to a car? Not sure exactly how it works, but isn't it just an electronic thing and not mechanical

Answers:
You can retro fit traction control, anyone who says otherwise needs to research a bit more. Racelogic have been doing them for ages, it works by monitering wheel speed and if anything slips it reduces engine power. It's effective, but it's not cheap, so not really any use for anyone other than racers and rally drivers. For road use, set it to about 10% slip, or it'll just cut the revs at the first sign of slip and you'll be going nwhere in a hurry. You're right in that it's all done electronically, so no need to alter anything mechanical.

not possible, and no real benefit anyway. Switch mine off, especially when conditions are bad. When the traction control comes in it just cuts the power off
no
No, you need mechanical pads on the wheels, new discs, hubs, brakes of most cheap versions. Servo, electronics, dashboard stuff..

£2K about, why bother.
