Bmw auto gearbox problems?

rarely.. its bulletproof. whats it not doing? (pulling like a steam engine) check each and every hose and pipe, fromt he engine to the ECU.
i bought a 5, and although itd just been rebuilt it ran ok, but wouldnt pull accellerate or do much over 40mph..so i bought it, and spent six days searching, rerouting and repairing loose hoses and tubes..
if all the sensors arent plugged in, teh computer goes a bit daft.
only other thing is torque converter fluid level.it must be checked with the engine running, and in drive, after youve cone pnrd123..back up the box and into drive. it fills all the pathways in the torque converter and give you an acurate reading.

yep thay do had the same box I'm disabled that's why i know this answer 2nd gear is combined with reverse i got a replacement my cousin is a bmw technician my advice replace don't go 4 a recon there pish mate good luck m8 plumdj 2000
i own a repair shop in Tennessee,and they do fail, i have a customer who needs one now and cant find it,we may wind up going through the dealer for one,and there very expensive too,but yes they fail,i know of a few that have,good luck i hope this help,s
