Answers:
we had this the alarm has a voltage drop sensor so if you break int the boot or something the light comes on an off goes the alarm our problem was the battery was old and after youve been driving its fully charged but after a while the voltage will drop and the alarm will go off a new battery sorted our problem
we had a rover 416i that did the same, hubby cut the wire for the horn that stoped the alarm but also the horn working so it would have failed the MOT had to go befor the mot was due because it had lots of other problems never did find out what was worng witht he car
