Hi bought a renault laguna but find I have to nearly floor the accelerator to get any power out if it?

I have not went over 40mph yet so I dont know if it will go over it seems the pedal is hitting the floor

Answers:
Could be a stretched throttle cable or incorrectly adjusted.
Adjust the cable.
Does it make any funny noises? Have you taken the handbrake off?
Vra vroom! Did you fall for that Thierry Henry stuff?

Do you support Arsenal?
go back to the place where you bought it as it still will be under warranty and get them to look at it and next time take it a drive round the block as i have also found out (the hard way) that it could save you time and pounds.
If the revs are going up but your not going any where get the exhaust checked, manly the cat if its collapsed inside it stops the gases getting out and stops the car from going like it should.
