we have had this on one at work it was the knock sensor on that one?
It could be a fault in the electronics and could do serious damage if you continue to drive with this fault. You will need to have this seen to by a Vauxhall Service Centre.
it could be the immobilizer, our '97 astra was doing the same thing, apparently the key was worn and the immobilizer didn't recognise it so it would just cut out. On the other hand it could also be the distributer (we had that done too. not sure which one did the trick but its fine now)
Only one way to solve an engine manager proplem , computor check
you could try n call AA and get them 2 come out n fix it
dont go to vauxhaull they will charge you the earth go to an independant garage and have them check it outbut do it asap as it could cause more damage if you leave it it could be a number of things and only the management system check will find it i doesnt need to cost a fortune either so get it done tomorrow if you lived by me my mechanic is brill and wont charge a fortune and he has all the stuff needed to get you going hope you find out soon and it dont cost you too much take care get it seen to
I had the same problem on a 95 corsa. Ended up having to replace the ignition amplifier, idle air valve, all sorts. In the end it turned out to be the distributor (After spending £1000 trying to find the problem! Argh!)
Take it to a Vauxhall dealer they will put it on a diagnoistic reader Tech 2 This will show what trouble code has been stored if its petrol eng very poss your crank position sensor.Regards Mick.
