Are there ticket gates at waterloo east station?
Answers:
No, but collectors are about for spot checks.
Nope. But sometimes they position people near the exits to look at tix. If you don't have a valid ticket just look straight ahead and walk fast and try to look inconspicuous. Not that I would know ;)
there isnt a waterloo east station.

Yes there are gates if you are going from waterloo east to the mainline waterloo station - just near the top of the escalator.
No Gates at Waterloo east but we do check tickets at random, and you would be in a penalty fare zone, extra £20 if you get caught
Just buy a ticket you cheap git
ticket gates are not allowed to be installed between Waterloo East & Waterloo station due to fire regulations. There is therefore a permenent staff checking tickets there.
Also there ARE barriers at the Southwark tube station end.
Travelling without a ticket is illegal.
