I have a Chrysler neon,lx,1996 manual. the immobiliser has broken, cant find a dealer that can replace it!!?

the immobilizer is produced by Rockwell which is an american company, i cant get hold of a uk branch. if i cant get a replacement for the remote,id love to remove the whole immobiliser system and remain without one, but again no mechanic seems conversant with Chrysler immobilizers, i just want to be able to drive my car again as i cant even start it right now.

disconnect the battery neg lead, get some one to sit in car and hold key in crank position then reconnect the battery as they are holding key in crank position and car will start

Just get the thing dis-connected. They never stop burgulars, just piss off owners. Will only cost aroung £30 this way, and a 1996 Neon won't be a target for a car thief. 14 year old skum like XR3I's Golfs etc, and professionals won't go for anything that old, so it's a pointless piece of kit anyway.
