Manual or automatic gears?
Answers:
automatic! These days the roads are busy so nice to forget about gears and concentrate on the roads.. My latest car is an automatic and I'd never go back..
"Best " referring to what? cheaper or better performance?
manual transmission because they take less horse power to operate and that means greater fuel mileage.
It used to be that a manual transmission got better gas mileage. Anymore that advantage is either non-existant or miniscule. Buying a manual tranny for fuel economy alone is usually not the reason.
There are various other reasons though - an automatic is usually a $600 "option" so you save right out of the gate if you buy a standard transmission vehicle. Of course if you don't know how to drive it.
Manual, always gets the best outta a car
depends on the car, and your driving skills
Manual but automatic is easier to drive.
I prefer the manual.
My husband says with a small engine you definately want the manual. It will give you more power and usually better fuel mileage.
manual is better all round for cost can be more fuel efficient.
for a more relaxed drive automatic
for a diesel car? usually diesel cars include pick-ups.. so i suggest is manual.
If it's a diesel car, definitely a manual. I prefer an automatic because I'm a lazy driver and hate to change gears all the time but they both have their advantages and disadvantages.
automatic gears is for defectives
I prefer manual.
Definitely a manual, hands down.
Depends on how you were taught to drive. I was taught to drive on the gears and accelerator for control, but now they seem to be taught to drive on the brakes.
At the moment I have a 2litre Mercedes which has an automatic gearbox, but it makes me cringe every time I go around a sharp bend and show my brake lights! I hate drivers that show their brake lights for the slightest reason. I doubt that I am driving very economically because being in the right gear and not having to brake is economical - and as for performance, well, I can always switch to 'sport' but that is even more expensive! Diesel or petrol, doesn't matter - if you have the choice go for manual. As long as you know how to drive properly - that is, look ahead and drive to the conditions.
Most cars in the United States are automatics. HOWEVER if you want to extract all the performance from "a little smoker" go shift for your self. There are "new" twin clutch manual systems that give you the performance of stick shift and convience of an auto I think AUDI and soon VW, Ferrarri
If you buy an auto 2.0 of a large vehicle that more like it if is an focus or others forget it!, stick with manual
manual is my preference but golf diesel auto drives well! try it and see what you think.
Go for a manual box. These give better fuel economy, are cheaper to service and have less to go wrong. Trust me, if your automatic box goes south, you will know all about it.
i have a 2 litre auto people carrier its petrol and it does about 20 mpg been told diesels do about 40 mpg i hate it but my wife cant drive manual, the only advantage is when sitting in miles of traffic you don't get achy legs.
sorry to ramble GET A MANUAL
