Can i use fully synthetic 5/40 oil in a punto2 1200cc 8valve?

Answers:
I guess so, you can do what ever you want :)
most auto stores have lists of correct oil to use but i should think
it would be ok,prob higher spec than required on that motor
It's dependant on age of vehicle, older simpler engines need a semi or standard oil. If your car is slightly older it will probably not have had fully synthetic before and you run the risk of dislodging old oil from the oil ways. If you still want to use it use a good quality engine flush and you should have no problems.
The answer from Lottoextra is absolutely correct. If you haven't been using full-synth on a regular basis up till now, and the engine is a few miles old, I wouldn't bother. Use a semi-synth, safer, and you get to save money as well.

Check out what grade of oil is recommended for the car, and then have a look around at what is available.
The recommended oil for your car is 10-40 synthetic so you should be alright with 5-30, however i would recommend that you follow the service schedule because these cars do not fair well when not serviced correctly
