Anyone any idea what the warning light is on a ldv convoy van which looks like a petrol pump with wavy lines?

As diesel fuel often has some water content some diesel vehicles have a water sensor in the diesel filter.The warning lamp you describe sounds like this.If your vehicle is a diesel it could be the water needs draining off or the filter replacing.
