Do i need road tax if im being towed in a car?
Answers:
Technically if your car is even parked on a public road you need road tax. If you are just towing it to an off road location to get it towed then you should be ok - but you eitherhave to have it taxed or registered as SORN - Statutory Off Road Notice - if it's going to be off the road for a while then get it registered as SORN - that way you can't get a fine. The difficulty with insurance is that if someone crashes into it whilst it's being towed you won't be covered - like wise if it causes any damage -comes adrift etc you will be in trouble. But if it's a short distance you can take a chance on it. Definitely get the car tax thing orted though with SORN - they only have to check on a computer and you can get fined - even if it's not on the road and you haven't told them you can still get fined.
Yes unless it's off the road on a trailer
You need tax if any of those 4 wheels touches the public highway. I think the insurance is covered by the towing vehicle, but surely, if you intend to drive the vehicle from the garage once it has been MOT'd, you will need tax and insurance anyway?
yes u do
Yes, a car needs to be taxed or SORNed, regardless of its condition.
You can't SORN it ( statutory off road notification ) as you're on the road. Ego, you need road tax.
unfortunatly you do.
Yes unless its showing trade plates or is on a trailer
