1968 lancia fulvia. How many out there?
Answers:
I think the first respondent hit the rusty nail on the head..not many.
That said, I once drove an HF Lusso version, and it was just gorgeous to drive.
They remain one of the prettiest cars ever created, the designer being Pininfarina of Ferrari fame.
If you have a good one, or can get hold of a good one, don't try using it as daily-transport, and expect to struggle getting holding of spares.
Serious answer. probably only a handful. There used to be a Lancia Club in the UK, but whether it still exists or not I do not know, but they would be able to give you a more accurate assessment.
In 1972 I bought a new S2 Fulvia and it was (and remains) the worst car I have ever owned. So if you are thinking of buying one then my advice would be to change your mind even if you are being seduced by its still elegant looks. Even when it is working well it will soon fail, and when it fails it will cost a lot of money to put right. They rusted, the gearbox was not reliable (mine had to be rebuilt after just a few hundred miles of use!) , they ate sparking plugs, internal bits fell off even when gently handled, and the paintwork was susceptible to rain stains.
Because of Lancia's awful reputation (made even worse by the later HPE model, which rusted away in a few weeks - that's after all its windows fell out!) Lancia called it a day and withdrew from the UK.
I believe they are now going to make a come back, so lets hope they have learned how to make cars that last!
