How to enhance quality of internet images for print quality?
I would like to know how I can determine the print quality of an image from an internet resource i.e. If I wanted to have a print of an image from an online resource such as
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/public_doma. how would I determine whether I can print out a 2ft by 4ft image on high-quality paper with a high-quality printer without it being grainy or fuzzy etc? So essentially, how do I determine the maximum print quality of an online image and what resources are available to enhance such images which are of poor resolution?
Answers:
Internet images are all too often very low resolution and cannot be enhanced enough for a decent 2x4 foot image. Check your resource, they often have higher quality images available to download. Also, don't be too picky, most images that are blown up that big have huge dots and jaggies that are simply not noticable unless you get too close to it.
Good question.
Any Image of more than 1600x1200 pixels should be printable up to A4 size.
A 2ft by 4ft image from a digiatal source?
Forget it ! You're looking at about 8 Mega pixels minimum, hence never found online.
