Flush Tailgate how do i light up my number plate?
Answers:
Some TVRs in the 1990s used back-lit number plates.
This will require an even bigger hole in the bumper so you can fit the lights inside the bumper and they will shine through to the back of the plate, but it will keep the clean appearance from the outside.
I did a google search for "backlit number plate" and found a number of links including http://www.craigsplates.com/tvr-backlit-.
Most auto parts stores will have a screw on light that is for this application. They used to be only $3-4 but now I expect the are $20
Open the tail gate, sit a child in the back (after tying it securely to the back of the rear seat) and give it a torch. The child shines the torch onto the number plate. Problem solved!
I think to pass the MOT you need the two lights that were origionally there, you have to cut the bumper to fit the n/plate in it, so what the problem with cutting it a bit more to stick the lights above it too?
