Any VW Polo Mechanics on line?

My central locking suddenly packed up yesterday. When the ignition is turned on the doors lock automatically. Engine off, doors open. Remote locks doors and sets alarm.
Now I have to open manually, and pull my door button up to get out. Although when I press the alarm it flashes as though set, I am still having to lock my door with a key. Could it be a fuse or something? Would like it to be simple as there is only little old me to fix it! Thanks

Answers:
Yes your remote does have batteries, try new ones 1st then check your fuses, you should have a diagram of which type of fuses to use in your little manual or get a Haynes manual if you've lost it.
no, its not going to be simple, easy, or cheap to fix. its either your fob, (cheap and easy, therefore unlikely) or your alarm control box has thrown a wobble.
try key thob bet its that.
Hi check your batteries in the remote first, this may need re-programing after you've put the battery in so if it doesn't work straight away contact me and I'll explain how to do it cheers
