Does anyone know how the new digital tachographs work in the new lorries?

you need a chip and pin tacho card, without one you can`t drive a vehicle with a digital tachograph fitted
my chap uses them,he just opens the disk places the tacho in turns it on and away he goes
you need a digital taco in your lorry and put your card in , there is no filling out paper work with these its all on computer and transfered to your company , it saves drivers alot of crap , but you need to abide by your driving laws and brakes as your being spied on via sattelite all the time .
You only have to change modes between work and break. Driving is automatically recorded.
yes you still have to change modes as normal, driving is automatic as it is in most non digital tacho's but you will still get an infringment if you don't use the other modes correctly
the card is very simular to the U.K photo drivers licence, it has a chip and can record the drivers actitivities for 28 days ( approx)
