Why do other drivers not use roundabouts correctly, we were all shown the correct way when learning.?
Answers:
Hun, PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS!!!!!! The day anyone follows road rules will be a MIRICLE.. and inm not one to speack i go around the round about near my place the wrong way when no ones around for a laugh!!
are you sure its not just you and everyone else is going round correctly?
and we all forget soon after
(just like NOT crossing your hands when holding the steering wheel, or forgetting to indicate, or only holding the steering wheel with one hand, or mirror-indicate-manoeuvre etc etc etc.)
its part of modern driving in britain, with all sorts of driving habits coming in with each wave of migrants
Because they are rude and arrogant drivers who how to use them properly but like to think the laws and rules do not apply to them.
We have similar traffic problems here. There are lots of drivers who think laws, rules, and common sense does not apply to them. You should hear some of the excuses my husband hears when he does a traffic stop. Some of the excuses are over the top. Or the person tries to lie about it.
Well in ireland, roundabouts are relatively new, and nearly all the drivers were settled into driving long before them, so they never bothered to learn. I can use roundabouts properly, and do, because I have studied my highway code.
Because they are ignorant twats. I have seen many times a car in the left lane (outside) going straight and drift into the inside of the roundabout. I have lost the number of times I have avoided a collision when I'm in the inside going right.
poor lane discipline, not looking in mirrors, getting away with it without thinking about position. General dicks! I hope they get caught out under a 40ft trailer one day!
LAZYNESS if the truth beknown !!
Its inefficient, necessary when your learning and not skilled enough to know whats around you, but if you spent all your time remembering the rules instead of concentrating on driving you'd have and/or cause far more accidents. Once you been driving for say 5 years you have learned to know whats within 100 metres of each turning onto the roundabout as you approach it. If you don't after that sort of experience then you shouldn't be on the road.
