VW Golf Tdi doesn't like starting when warm - anyone help?

Whenever the golf is cold it starts immediately (once the coil has heated up). When the car has been running and the engine is hot, it doesn't want to start - turns over for at least 5 seconds before starting. Any ideas what the problem might be?

I used to have a lawnmower that wouldn't start when it was warm.

The problem there was that the carburetor got warm and evaporated the petrol in it.

All I could do was wait for it to cool down.
i dont really no have u got oil ,anti freeze and water in it if all of them things are cool then i suggest u take it to a garage it could be a fault with the startermotor
Sometimes when the starter gets warm if it is not in good shape,it will act just like that.I would suspect that you need a starter.
check temp sensor
when warm, just press the accelearor a quarter inch as the engine is tuning over
