How do i remove platinum from an old catalitic convertor?

Answers:
This is NOT an effective way to obtain bling.
with a sawz-all, cut it open and enjoy, wear gloves and a dust mask
Why, you will be lucky no survive without getting dermatitus, cancer, or worse.
Hmm, well having removed the catalyst with a saw, what then?

You are not going to find a nice little slivver of platinum and another one of rhodium.

You will need to do a spot of chemical leaching first. Unless you want to play with acid and cyanide compounds, you MAY decide not to go too far with this - unless you have access to a boatload of cats - in which case do a little googling for details of the various processes.

They really are a little detailed to be explained in a "Yahoo Answer", sorry.
So small an amount not worth the effort of trying to get at it . Plus its bloody dangerous to your health.Regards Mick
YOU DONT.
Smelt the fu*cker.
Melt it down ,and there is so little its not worth the effort, only if you do it en mass
