Can i remove scratches from glass??

someone has scratched 3 of my car windows and i would like to know if i can remove them or at least make them less visable without having to change the glass,
the scratches are not too deep

Answers:
Sometimes if the scratches aren't too deep you can buff them out using a special rubbing compound that you can find at your local parts store. They have to be pretty small though, if your fingernail catches when you run your finger over the scratch, it is probably too deep.

If it is more of a chip, you can get an epoxy to fill it in.

Good luck!
At the drugstore you can buy this stuff to take the scratches off of eyeglasses and my brother used it on his car and it made a big difference.
go to any automotive glass installer/specalist -they can heat epoxy into the scratches and buff it smooth-it will look new but usally cost around $50-75 still cheaper than then takin old glass in and replacing it plus the money ya spent gettin a junkyard or new glass-call em up in your area-hope this helps
I do not think so with toughened glass you need to be careful as the scratches have now stressed the glass and it could break
break the glass.. that will make the scratches less visable to people trying to pay attention to the scratches.
There is a company called Glas-weld that has a system for removing scratches from glass, it is not cheap - £60/hour, but it does work and scratches are removed rather than hidden.
Type glasweld uk into googleand that should give you a contact phone number.
You should be able get some tin oxide from a good art shop. Mix this with water until it has the consistency of custard. Apply this to a buffing wheel attached to a drill, and gently go over the scratches. Do not apply too much pressure, and make sure there are no particles of grit on the buffing wheel. You should keep the speed of the drill quite low.

Good luck.
I've heard jeweller's rouge is the stuff to use. Or you could seek advice at your local windscreen replacement outlet
