Is there a way of making tyre dressing at home?i would thought using vaseline-it would stick on tyre and shine
Answers:
Tyre dressing is liquid silicon. I wouldn't try using any other products or home-made stuff because tyre compounds could be attacked by the chemicals which would cause huge safety issues. It's not worth trying to mess around with saving a few pence when your life and other people's could be at stake here.
Tire shine is nothing but liquid silicone. So unless you have some of that laying around, you will just make a mess of your tires trying anything else.
And all the muck would stick to that. Get tyre gel from a motoring shop.
Listen to what steinbabe says and give him/her the 10 points!
I use parade gloss boot polish sometimes. Applied with a brush that I do my boots with. Doesn't drip, treak or stain and is darn good!
Hi >
If you are selling the thing, use good old black boot polish, rubbed nicely around with a shoe brush.
Mind, I would probably say : " That has had boot polish on it"
A tyre is a tired tyre. Or can be so looking.
Stick nice cheapo new ones on it. Best bet.
All the best with it .

Just spray hairspray on them, looks wet but is dry to the touch!
Tight a**e!
boot polish,silicone spray,wd40
you simply need something oilbased mate, i used to own my own valeting buisness and i used to use WD-40 or something along those lines when i ran out, nothing too thick tho, i would use something in a can :D but the propper tyre shine stuff is the nuts lol, i went for the foam myself, spray on and simply let it dry, capish :D
In the old days people would use brake fluid it does work very well just don't get any on the paint work
