How easy is it taking a gearbox out of a vauxhall astra(p reg)?

Answers:
i changed the gearbox on my astra..i am not a mechanic n so this may not be the best way of doing this but it worked for me..take off passenger side strut and driveshaft, remove bars inderneath engine, unbolt engine apart from mount on drivers side ( put a jack under engine) lower it down and unbolt bell houseing(gearbox) the engine sitting at an angle and strut removed should allow u to take gearbox out easily enough, the hardest part for me was lining up my gears again with the selector
Dont waste your time on a pile of junk
VERY EASY
easy if you know how, but why is there stil a vauxhall astra , do they have gears..vauxhall.ug.
If it's still moving when you try and get it out it can be a bit tricky!

But if you buy a Hayes manual for it you get step by step instructions but just be careful lining up the clutch plate if you decide to replace that at the same time it took me ages to get it lined up!
you have to remove the strut and wish bone,,,you will need a ball joint splitter and a torque wrench before you even start it quiet a hard job,,,,,,,,,,,,,

do you take advice from a woman,,,,,,lol
its all true trust me,,,
ermm yes easy if you have the right tools. large leverbar, full socket and large ratchet set, screwdrivers etc etc. should take approx 30 mins to get the box out, getting it in should take approx 45 mins, easy job :D
I do not know.
Leave it in the car park near me an it'l be out in 3 minute's !
