Can a Spanish car registration/licence plate be used in the UK.and if so where do you begin to purchase one.?

also can you purchase any specific plates off a data base like the dvla has got.

You can drive on the Spanish plates when you come over but will eventually need to register the car with DVLA and get UK plates.
