It's a one way system involving anything from a single roundabout, to a method of moving traffic quickly and efficiently (!) through lots of one way streets. It usually involves lots of waiting at traffic lights and hold ups for pedestrian crossings!
usually a round about with traffic lights or a series of one way strectches of road that take you round a bend.
It is a Type of Large Roundabout.

It's the posh way of describing several roundabouts, under/over passes with or without intermediate short one-way stretches as a means of keeping traffic moving (it says here!) at a large complicated junction usually involving the conjunction of several main roads.
