When do Car Dealers in the UK want to sell cars the most?

Answers:
I guess at christmas becuase they are going to be quieter than any other time of the year, and they have still got to make money.
All automotive dealers want to sell the most in September through to December. The new models for the next year have been released, and they have to clear old inventory off the lot.

Best time to get a deal on a new car.
New car registrations are released twice in the year for the UK, March and September! I guess they will be fairly busy at these times!

However, due to the economy car Dealers are struggling to get rid off cars quickly! Therefore if you visit a car dealer and are confident enough you can do the selling to yourself by saying you have been offered better else where.

E.G. most offer 6 months road tax and half a tank of fuel! Bargain for a full tank and 12 months road tax!
they're very aggressive at getting it right ( making the most money ), perhaps summer time (vacations), winter ( old cars go wrong) and spring ( the 'must start afresh' syndrome!)
They would ideally like to sell the same number of cars every working day.

But because the public wants their new cars when the registrations change (1st March or 1st September) they have to cope with peaks and troughs in demand.

Find a trough, and you might get a bargain.
But unless you're in Northern Ireland, avoid late February or August - the dealer will already be building up stock for the plate change.

If its been a slow month, you might get a bargain at the end of a month if it helps a dealer meet the target to get his bonus.

If you're buying a used car, just after the plate change (mid-March or mid-September) could be a good time - they'll have lots of part-exchanges to clear.
Usualy at the end of a month thats when sales managers push to hit targets set by the manufacturer.Thats how car sales people make up their commisions.Used to be a service manager.Regards Mick
buy a 2006mdl in september 2006. thats when the real rebates kick in to shift the metal. these rebates usually come from the manufactuarer, not the dealer. however, dealers generally tell you the best time to buy is NOW! Their only thinkin' of their commission - i use to sell cars myself.
