Like others have said 6-12 months for the general hire cars, the big companies can negotiate huge discounts when buying cars direct from the manufacturers since they are putting in an order for 1000+ vehicle, when the time comes to sell they can offer get the same re-sale price as they paid for the car. The manufac. don't mind this since they see it as advertising, there car is on tghe road not their rivals, plus a some of the customers might like the car they hire enough to drive it.

long lease companies, for as long as the lease lasts, they usually sell them straight afterwards.

Whent to bellevue car auctions and saw many car hire firms auctioning cars off at between 6&9months old.I think they get rid of them before they get to aprox 10.000 miles
