users manual . doh !
have you checked the blower fuse? if that's good, could be your blower switch, or the blower motor itself has gone bonkers.
sounds like the heater core
Yes, the flagship of the BMW range. Massive.
If the blower is blowing cold air it may be the thermostat.
If its not working at all check the fuses, failing that see a mechanic.
I'm sure this is a cheap repair. I hope!
let em understand you better, are you going to do the work yourself?
if so go to your local library and go into the automotive section and look at the reference books.they do not let reference books out but you can make copies and take notes, and also look at the repair books for your BMW and maybe look at the heating and air conditioning repair books also..
you really should take and hour out of your day and go do the research at the library yourself..this way no matter who works on your car..you WILL know if they are telling the truth or trying to take you for a RIDE.money gone out of your pocket if you do not know what is going on.
but it just might be better to get if fixed at the BMW dealer.
good luck
If your vents blow air when you turn on the fan then its not your blower motor. If you get no air at all coming from your vents when you turn the fan on the your blower motor may be out or your electrical connection to the motor may be loose.
one of 3 things come to mind. you may have a blown fuse. the blower motor itself is bad. or you have a wire off or a loose wire. that's the basics of it.
If you know how to work on this.first take a test light and disconnect the wire from the blower motor, do this with the igintion on. If you have power there.then it's obvious it's the blower motor. If you do not have power there then use your test light.and again with the ignition on.check the fuses.if they are good then you have a bad connection in the wire itself.
Hope this helps.
Surely there must be something in the handbook about the ventilation system. A lot of misting is caused by the recirculation button which stops fresh air getting in, eg for when going through smoke, if its on all the time youre breath will mist up the whole car. Also damp mats, unbrellas all cause mist.
Generally most systems have an up arrow to indicate top vents and a down arrow for footwell, you would want to select the up arrow.
if the moter is working you it on to hot then put it to font wind screen
if the moter is not working check fuse if this is ok needs a new moter this is a dash out job
