I am about to buy a new car. VW has launched the car but my choice is not even able to be ordered yet WHY?
Answers:
What car is it that you have ordered, newly launched cars come with few models, the ones that will sell the most, after a few months or even a year the manufacture releases more specialist models such as sport models, diesel's etc.
I suppose the manufacture is gauging the response in the market to get a feel for the models selling power against rivals before they start adding not as popular specs.
The factory has to change the line from a standard car to ones with options so, they wait until there are sufficient orders for a car of the same specification to be built, change the line and produce that batch of cars. This is why delivery times vary, they take a guesstimate of how many cars they need to build, wait to see what cars dealers order and then amend the production as necessary. Build times can go back up to 12 weeks if no-one else wants a car of similar specification.
cos vw dont like u
Do not buy a new model, during the first 6-12 months of production. Let someone else find the problems. After the first year, most of the bugs are worked out, and you end up with a more dependable vehicle!!
This isn't an answer but I once went to buy a Saab and the salesman said he didn't think I looked as if I could afford it so was it worth placing the order! Maybe that happened to you too. Don't worry, anyway, a car's just a tin can on wheels, buy a different one. A Saab, maybe :o)
