Hi, I am thinking of buying a new Mondeo st TDCi and would like to know what you think of the car?

Answers:
very good car.

VERY good car, the pick up speed is jus excellent!
Average, boring, come on: it IS a Ford, what did you expect?
Depreciation like you wouldn't believe. Do yourself a favour, get the bus.
Second hand there are some bargains, and they are certainly the ST is the best looking front end on a Mondeo.

Now that the V6's are getting too expensive to run a diesel is a good choice.
Great car with 2 things to watch out for the fuel pumps can be a bit testy, the seals tend to fail.
Here is the trick a mechanic will try to charge you for a new fuel pump this can run from £500-£1000 don't let them do it.
The part that fails is just a tiny O-ring on the inlet port.
The replacement part is maybe £30 but if you can get away with replacing the O-ring which cost about 2p.
I mention this because these can fail the day the warranty ends.
Change the oil often about every 5000 miles and the engine should last almost for ever.
When you do use a good oil like Valvoline semi synthetic Durablend.
In all a good reliable hard working car, one of fords better products.
I had a couple for company cars they did me very well.
I have several customers now who own them and have many positive things to say
Im in the car trade and used to sell Mondeos although not anymore but I have to say even though they arent the most exciting cars around, they are very comfortable, reliable, cheap and have good engines too. Worth a buy plus you should get a good deal.
Have a look at the Passat. You wont loose so much in depreciation. However, Mondeos are a good car. Have a look at the 3 year old price of any car you are spending your money on.
i personally dont like it but different strokes for different folks
