It doesn't have to be a dealer but you need the book stamping ang keep a detailed invoice, that should tally with the service requirements i.e. work done and materials/parts used.
EU rules state that service by main dealer franchise is no longer a condition for keeping your warranty valid.

it does not have to be done by a main dealer. but they do have to keep to the dealer recomendations & use gen parts to keep the warreny
