Cant unscrew petrol filler cap on vespa!?

I know its hard to tell the difference, but I think you may be trying to unscrew the petrol cap from a hairdryer.
Try putting a thick rubber band around it to give a better grip, or borrow a strap-wrench - even one of those things designed for unscrewing car oil filters might do it.
you need one of them things that disabled ppl use to open jars of jam and that. ride free mate.
Pour boiling water over a cloth and put it on top of the cap, this will expand the metal and help to loosen it. Then put on a rubber glove and try to turn it, this will give you a non slip grip. Or you could read this at the bottom of the page here -
Petrol tap tool
Vespa in their wisdom put the nut that holds the petrol tap onto the tank INSIDE the tank.
This tool undoes this nut fairly easily but it is still a bit fiddly, like trying to paint your hall through your letterbox using a broom!

use a boa that you can get from Halfords. I had a Triumph Legend 900 ( a real bike) that had a similar problem and used a boa cos even big strong men couldnt undo it. After that i used vaselene on the threads.

WORKS EVERY TIME
Drive a screwdriver thru it and use the handle to loosen it.
Put a little oil on the rubber gasket on the new one and hand tighten.
Take a large pair of channel lock pliers and squeeze the sides until the sides touch the inner metal part and turn slowly. It will come off. I've removed locking caps with this method, where the owner had lost his keys.

then an oil filter rench or strap & a little elbow grease ie kick it one
