Its crushed by now.

Largely depends where you live, however the areas which operate a tow away scheme all operate a crush policy.

Best Advice is above
He won't.it will get crushed now.Thats the law i'm afraid
Pay off the back taxes, and the additional changes.. how much..? I dunno.
it will cost about 400$
You wont, it will have been crushed by now and made into coke cans.
You do get some idiots answering these questions . . . In the UK, if your car is taken for non display of road tax, you will simply have to pay a fine and also pay for a tax disc. Simple
Tough Luck!!
Should have got a tax disc like the rest of us in this country have to!
depends on your county. find ure county website. find the people who deal with the towing. call them up
get £300 out of the bank, head down to the car pound.
best thing to do is rush down to the post office, and buy the tax, they wont give u the car back without it
should have declared it SORN. you can usually do it over the 'net so there is no excuse!
I'm afraid your friend's scuppered, the others are right, the car will have been destroyed by now, personally I find crushing a perfectly serviceable car a bit strong, but thats 21st century Britain for you, it sucks! But to be fair, your friend should have bought a disc or SORNed it to avoid this from happening in the first place. I think the best way to penalise tax dodgers is to either put a heavy fine on them or imprison them, not destroy their property. Put it this way, if you didn't pay your council tax, would you be alright with the council coming up to demolish your house?
2 options

1. break-in to the impound lot where it is and steal it back

2. U have a certain amount of time be for they crush his car, he'll have to pay a large fine, which he'll probably have to pay anyway, if he wants the car back or not, by road tax for it, and the fees for the towing, impound fee more than likely.

the second option U have to get U friend to ask himself is the car worth speeding all that money on ?
if he can find out where it is he will have to pay a release fee plus any storage charges plus any fine incurred. they normally contact the owner before it is crushed. but don't hang about. it wont be cheap.unfortunatly they will crush if they have not heard from the owner after about a week.
Why should he get it back, he should have had it taxed like the rest of us law abiding citizens. Bet he had enough money for his fags and booze.
Got my Can of coca cola out of your vehicle and 2 point for me YES!
It it was crushed - good - should have paid the tax
Pay the fine and back tax plus six months rfl. SORNing the car would not work if it was on the road. you can get done SORNing a car and keeping it on the road. you have either 14 or 28 days to pay up or its the wire wool machine for it. also look at dvla web site
Contact local police or DVLA office to find out where the car is.
It will cost £80 declamp fee, £80 recovery fee, £15 per day storage and a surety fee of £120 you can apply to get the surety back if you produce a valid tax disc for the car within 14 days.
